ELLETTSVILLE – Lane Hawkins shattered the school record in the high jump as Bedford North Lawrence swept Edgewood during high school track action on Tuesday night.
The Stars won the boys meet 74-58 and claimed the girls meet 72-58.
Hawkins soared over the bar at 6-7 1/2, breaking his own mark of 6-6.
Other winners for BNL included Taylor Porter (15.79 in the 110 high hurdles), Cooper Holmes (4:51.66 in the 1600), Drew Shoufler (20-3 1/4 in the long jump), Cale Bunch (125-0 in the discus), Aleric Juhl (48-0 3/4 in the shot put) and Alan Anderson (12-9 in the pole vault).
The Stars also won the 3200 and 400 relays.
In the girls meet, Chelsea Scott was a triple winner for the Stars. She took the 100 hurdles (18.57), the 300 hurdles (57.31) and the high jump (4-8).
Jillian Webb won twice, crossing the line first in the 100 meter dash (13.64) and soaring 14-11 in the long jump.
Other winners for BNL included Molly Lambrecht (33-1 3/4 in the shot put), Jacy Hughes (8-0 in the pole vault) and the 400 relay team.
BNL will host its 9-10 Invitational on Thursday. The entire varsity will compete in the Talon Relays at Brown County on Saturday.
