Bedford native Craig Bowden won the Indiana Senior PGA Championship on Tuesday afternoon.

FISHERS – Craig Bowden added to his trophy case on Tuesday afternoon, winning the Indiana Senior PGA Championship at The Hawthorns.

Bowden, who recently competed in the PGA Championship, the Senior PGA Championship, and the British Senior Open, fired a two-day total of 7-under 137 and clipped Peru’s Chris Smith by two strokes.

Bowden, a Bedford North Lawrence graduate and former winner on the Nike Tour, posted a first-round 69 (with five birdies) to claim a share of the overnight lead in the 36-hole event. He carded a bogey-free 68 in the second round, pulling ahead on the sixth hole and surging to the title.

The Senior PGA Championship is the sixth state event Bowden has won during his career, adding to his three Indiana Open crowns and two Indiana PGA Championship titles.
