FRENCH LICK – Addyson Bailey tamed one of the tougher golf courses in Southern Indiana while leading Bedford North Lawrence to wins over Springs Valley and Corydon on Tuesday afternoon.
Bailey carded a 40 on the front nine of the famed Donald Ross Course, pacing the Stars to a team total of 183. The Blackhawks posted 218 while the Panthers finished with 231.
Bailey birdied the par-5 first hole and added four pars.
“She’s started to put things together, showing some maturity” BNL coach Aaron Sanders said. “That’s a pretty solid round, and it was good to have her down around 40. That course is always a test, it can cause some havoc with people.”
Olivia Sanders fired a 44 while Kennedy Blair added a 49. Ashley Chase and Samantha Biel capped the scoring with 50s.
“It’s about time we had one of the juniors show up,” Sanders said. “We have to get some of the others to show up. They’ll have to find some way to compete, and they know we have to have them. We’re going to get a little help from the 4-5 spots by the end of the season.”
Keish Bennett paced Valley with a 41, while Emily Harbaugh led Corydon with a 48.
The Stars will return to action in the Providence Invitational at Champions Pointe on Saturday.
