COLUMBUS – Columbus North celebrated its Senior Night with a 48-25 victory over Bedford North Lawrence during high school wrestling action on Thursday night.
The Bull Dogs took advantage of four forfeits to conquer the Stars, who concluded the regular season with a 13-7 dual-meet record.
BNL, competing for the third straight night, won five of the 10 contested matches.
Reese Hamblen pinned Ashton Clark in 1:55 at 126 pounds, while Derek Hutchens halted Kamryn Denney in 1:09 at 132.
Drake Huber won a majority decision over Jared Slocum at 160 pounds with a 16-2 triumph, and Christian Brown decked Hector De Dios 12-7 at 170. BNL’s final win came at 195 as James Covey pinned Keegan Hill in 4:20.
“It was not a bad night,” BNL coach Roy Bruce Jr. said. “It was our third match in three days, and we got tired really fast. It was a great experience, a good challenge. Now nothing can shock us.”
The Stars will compete in the IHSAA sectional at Southridge on Jan. 26.
